Today, 5th January 2007, is Ev's birthday so you should all immediately send her an email wishing her a happy birthday. It is also the beginning of a very busy time for our little site, and our little selves too. During the next month there will be quite a few little changes and one very big one. So keep a look out.

On Wednesday January 10 2007, you will be able to read about the very first, and very last, One World Travellers Awards. The reason it is the very first is because we have never done it before and the reason it is the very last is because The One World Website will never do it again. And that is the interesting part of this news item.

Those of you who have followed us from the beginning must be very old now but will also know that we set out with a website designed to help people find out more about other cultures and lifestyles around the world. As we developed it, we found more and more travellers coming to the site, partly I am sure through the link we had with Lonely Planet, and so we grew a complete travellers section built on our experiences. Now, we think the time has come to split those two parts into two separate sites. And that is exactly what will happen.
