A LIFE OF .......... - TEACHERS NOTES

Teachers should read all the theme outline intended for students but may find the following of interest.

PARTICIPANTS:The project should be done individually. It can be done by students of any age. Older students will hopefully have a higher level of appreciation of the event(s) that they are writing about.

DURATION:between three and four 45 minute lessons with some time spent in preparation

LESSON GUIDELINES:At the beginning the students should be presented with the theme outline or it should be read to them. They should be encouraged to think about who they know who has had an unusual event(s) in their lives or, indeed, about such event(s) in their own life. We are looking for something which has involved a cultural or physical change; it can be recent or from the past.

FOLLOW-UP IDEAS:Follow up lessons could involve students presenting their choice to others in the group and discussing their reasons. They could also look into the events which have influenced what happened to their subject.
