The People

There are three categories in this section where we would like your help. You can write with reports about countries we have not yet visited as we will put your reports into our data base and they can be searched through our Your World Search.. However, if we have visited that country then your report may also appear in the "People" section for that country.

Now click on the category on the right that you wish to send us a report for, or, read about each one in turn and decide if you can report to us.

THE LEADERS

It is our intention, during our visits to each country, to try and interview prominent and important leaders. Naturally, we will try to talk to the political leader of a country but we will also seek to have a chat with other significant members of a community, such as spiritual leaders or those who lead a particular group, most important of which would be the indigenous people of any nation.

However our time is limited and also leaders will change over time. We would like some of our One World Reporters to try and conduct an interview with a significant leader in their country or with a new leader if a change takes place after our visit. Obviously you should not try and talk to the same people we have.

When you have something to send us, please email it to the following address: -:- reportsleaders@theoneworld.org
Then paste the following piece of text into the email and fill in the parts in italics.

LEADERS REPORT - name of country
NAME OF LEADER - name of the person you have interviewed
THEIR ROLE - the party or group that this person leads
YOUR NAME - your name
YOUR AGE - if you want
YOUR SCHOOL if applicable
YEAR OF THE REPORT - the year to which the text and/or photos relate
THE INTERVIEW - You must try and obtain answers to as many of the following questions as possible. Please note that we are trying to find out about the person not their party, their group or the faction they lead. You can begin your piece of text with a short resume of the meeting and how the person appeared to you. Then you should give the answers to the questions.

List of questions for leaders of visited countries

WORK

There are many similar jobs done all over the world but in differing environments and circumstances. We would like you to tell us about a particular job done in your country. We have listed below seven chosen professions about which we want some information. However you can of course write about any job you wish.

LISTED JOBS
School Teacher or Principal
Doctor or Nurse
Lawyer
Farmer or Farm Worker
.Journalist (TV, radio or print)
Policeman or woman
Craftsmen (eg builder, fabricator etc)

The idea is to give an account of an average working day in that profession. The report can be done in one of two ways. It can either be written by the person who does the job or by someone who has interviewed them and maybe accompanied the worker during a full day. This is a great way for you to learn about a particular job before choosing to enter that area as a career.

In either case, when you have something to send us, please email it to the following address: -:- reportswork@theoneworld.org
Then paste the following piece of text into the email and fill in the parts in italics.

A WORKING DAY IN - Insert the country
REGION - give town, city or village name and a very brief description of the environment
JOB - specify job name either using one of our profession headings or a job title.
NAME - Your name
AGE age if you want
SCHOOL school name if applicable
YOUR COUNTRY where you live YEAR OF THE REPORT - the year to which the text and/or photos relate
TEXT - The text can either be a simple diary of the day or text enhanced by pictures. We are setting out below the various paragraph headings, which we think you should follow. Whilst you can perhaps add a few more, these ones should be included in your text so that everyone can have a clear picture of the job and, importantly, we can compare similar jobs around the world.
FIRST PARAGRAPH - Here we would like you to define the job and the work it entails. You could perhaps include a bit about why the person (or you if you are writing about your own job) chose this job and also what qualifications were needed to start the job, how long they took to acquire or if one becomes qualified while doing the job.
NEXT PARAGRAPHS - Here you can almost give chronological account of an average day. We know that all days can be different but some sort of indication of an average day would be good. Where you undertake certain tasks you can expand on what these entail so an ordinary person can understand them better. Obviously if you say something like then they (or I) open my post this needs no explanation although the number of letters received may be interesting. If you say for example today they (or I) calculated the life expectancy for a Fijian male aged 45 then you could perhaps explain a little about what this involves.
SUBSEQUENT PARAGRAPHS -
What extras do they (or you) sometimes do?
What do they (or you) like most
What surprises them (or you) about the job
And, if the person is happy to tell you, what is their salary for the job in your currency?

PHOTO You should try and include four photos taken during the day and showing typical pieces of work. The photos should be no bigger than 800X600 pixels and if possible in jpg format

RECREATION

Since the earliest of times, people have enjoyed and played many different games. In our section we will look at one particular sport for each nation and maybe a couple of games that people play in that country. We would like you to add to this with some games that are, or have been, popular in your country. However, the games should be simple, require little or no additional material and certainly not be commercially available. They should be traditional games. When you have something to send to us email it to the following address:- reportsrecreation@theoneworld.org
Then paste the following piece of text into the email and fill in the parts in italics.

RECREATION - Name of the game or the name you give it
NAME - Your name
AGE age if you want
SCHOOL school name if applicable
YOUR COUNTRY where you live YEAR OF THE REPORT - the year to which the text and/or photos relate
TEXT - a brief description of how to play the game, number of players, rules etc

You can also send in a photo of someone playing the game or a diagram showing how it is played. The photo should be no bigger than 800X600 pixels and, if possible in jpg format

In any case where you are sending us original material, please make sure you are aware of the terms and conditions, which apply to work, sent to us. In simple words, when sending material to us you give us the right to display it on our website or in associated material.
