BLOGLET TWO - June 2006
Hi again. This week we moved from one side of New Zealand, the east side, to the other side, the west. The land is quite different here. On the west side there are lots of mountains. Mountains are very high hills. It is colder the higher up the mountain you go. Right on the very top you can sometimes see snow. The sides of the hills are very steep and Ev had to help me so that I could see better.
At the bottom of the mountains there are lakes. A lake is an area of water surrounded by land. The hills are the sides of the lake. Trees and bushes grow on the hills. We are here in autumn and the colours are different. I am standing in fern bushes. There are green ones and brown ones. It is harder to see me in the brown ones as they are nearly the same colour as I am. In the lakes you can a reflection of the hills. It looks as though everything is upside down.
