........................................................................................................................... IGRIN Internet is a fully New Zealand owned and operated ISP. I grin is the description for the expression on my face now we are dealing with them instead of some large company in a far off land. The company are based in Whangarei, which is of course one of our two bases.
They first started in 1995 as a local presence for IHUG (The Internet Home User Group). IGRIN stood for the Internet Group In Northland. They set up on their own in 1996 so as we start out on our long journey they are about to celebrate 10 years as an independent company.
The service they have given us has been fantastic and once Ev discovered Kim was a guy, she did this over the phone by the way, everything was even better. Kim likes working in the afternoon, so much so that he will answer the phone with a "Good afternoon" at any time of day.
We are delighted that they wanted to help us and, in a world where the little guy always has to struggle, we would like you to remember, if you want an ISP, which company said yes to helping your kids and kids around the world have a better understanding of each others lives.
And surely its worth just giving them a ring to find out because as soon as you do your working day will be closer to its finish. Good afternoon and thanks IGRIN When the first European settlers came to New Zealand they brought many things unfamiliar to the indigenous Maori population. Some were good, some were bad but most were different. From our brief experience in our Eurocamper van the same could be said. It is so different from the backpacker type of campervan that we have seen and indeed used before. And in this case, there is no doubt that it is so much better.
Firstly the vans are all 2.5 litre turbo diesel and that gives good power and great value on fuel consumption. They are also a pleasure to drive. Secondly the vans are all built to a very high standard and superbly laid out. The high top roof means that even Ev can stand up straight without flattening the top of her head. They are quite wide and roomy but I'm not telling you what that means except that it is good for those of us who have a nice size waist.
But the thing we noticed most was the service and attention to detail that the Eurocampers team provide. Each van has a mobile phone so you can keep in contact if things go wrong. And that attention to detail means that the curtains actually fit the windows, all crockery and cutlery is neatly stored away and, talking of that, there is so much storage space that we even managed to fit all our stuff inside.
If you want to see New Zealand but enjoy the journey, then Eurocampers is the answer.
........................................................................................................................................... Health and Human Performance offer professional services in the health and wellness sector. They provide expertise in the area of workplace, health research and sports performance.
They also run the official 10,000 steps Program which is a simple way to get fit, keep fit or just be active. The first part of the program is to provide you with a pedometer, which measures every step you take each day, every day. We felt that having one of these would not only help us fulfill the old Chinese proverb, which says a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, but we could actually have a bit of fun counting the steps we do each week as we travel the globe.
What is more kids could try and see if they could beat us in their everyday lives.
If you sign up to the program you not only get the pedometer but also an Official Guide Book and a Log Book. We used ours for the first timer when we spent four days at Waitangi and, guess what, we did over 80,000 steps on those four days. Then we went to Urupukapuka for three days and did another 40,000 or so. This must be how Richard keeps so fit for a man of his age, physically anyway. Mentally he has never quite matured into his age.
So join us, get fit, stay young, keep active and maybe, just maybe, we will have some sort of prize to anyone who beats us over a given month. Watch the NEWS for details.
Previous sponsors who we would like to thank are:-
